WARNING
Before attempting to service or troubleshoot the pressure washer, the owner or service
technician must first read and understand this instruction manual and comply with all safety
instructions. Failure to follow all instructions may result in conditions leading to voiding of
the product warranty, property damage, serious personal injury or death.
PROBLEM
POTENTIAL CAUSE
SOLUTION
Engine will not start or
starts and runs roughly.
1. Out of fuel.
1. Check fuel level and add fuel if necessary.
2. Low oil level.
2. Check oil level and add oil if necessary.
3. Engine switch is in the OFF
position.
3. Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
4.
Fuel valve lever is in the OFF
position.
4. Move the fuel valve lever to the ON position.
5. Engine is not choked (if cold).
5. Move the choke lever to the START position.
6. Engine is over choked (if hot).
6. Move the choke lever to either mid-way between
the START and RUN positions or fully to the RUN
position.
7. Entrapped water pressure
inside the machine.
7. Squeeze the spray gun trigger to release the
pressure.
8. Fuel is stale, contaminated
with water or other foreign
substance, or is the wrong
type.
8. Drain fuel and refill with fresh fuel of the correct type.
Then clean the fuel sediment cup.
9. Spark plug boot is not
properly connected onto
spark plug terminal.
9. Push spark plug boot firmly onto spark plug.
10. Spark plug is dirty or faulty.
10. Clean or replace spark plug.
11. Air filter is dirty or blocked.
11. Check air filter and clean or replace if necessary.
12. Spark arrester is dirty or
blocked.
12. Check spark arrester and clean if necessary.
13. Pressure pump is faulty.
13. Repair or replace water pump.
14. If above possible causes
are checked and eliminated,
pressure washer may be
faulty.
14. Take pressure washer to an authorised Westinghouse
service dealer.
Engine stops during
operation.
1. Out of fuel.
