d - Using the minimum amount of force, press
the tool down further vertically by no more
than 5 mm and then release it whereupon the
ball should spring back to its upper limit.
Repeat this step several times until the ball
moves down and springs back freely.
e - Re-connect the detergent tube onto the
barbed fittings.
Water Pump
Tools required –
10 mm spanner or socket wrench.
1. Stop the pressure washer and let it cool down if it
has been running.
2. Turn off the water supply and disconnect the
water supply hose from the inlet connection.
3. Point the spray gun in a safe direction and pull the
trigger to relieve any confined water pressure.
4. The water pump is pre-filled with oil and sealed
at the factory. It requires no regular maintenance
other than external cleaning and visual inspection
for oil leaks.
5. The procedure to replace the water pump, if
necessary, is as follows:
a - Disconnect the water supply hose, high
pressure hose and detergent tube from the
water pump.
b - Using a 10 mm spanner or socket wrench,
remove the four bolts that affix the water
pump to the engine as shown in Figure 45
and then pull the pump off from the engine
crankshaft entirely.

c - Clean the protruding stub of the engine
crankshaft and the shaft key with a rag and
inspect for damage. If OK, apply a thin layer
of grease onto the crankshaft stub and shaft
key. See Figure 46.

d - Slide the replacement water pump onto
the engine crankshaft taking care to align the
crankshaft key with the matching keyway
inside the water pump input shaft.
e - Rotate the water pump as required so that its
four mounting holes align with those on the
rear of the engine crankcase.
f - Apply a small amount of tread lock adhesive
onto the pump mounting bolts and then re-
install them with a tightening torque of 15 Nm
in a crosswise sequence.
g - Re-connect the detergent tube.
