Important information for ice makers with refrigerant R 290
(propane)
Room size
WARNING - flammable refrigerants
Depending on the type of device (see type plate), the refrigeration system of the device
contains the environmentally friendly but flammable refrigerant R 290 in small quantities.
It is extremely flammable and an explosive atmosphere can occur if there are leaks.
Fire, open light and smoking are prohibited!
CAUTION
Refrigerant R 290 forms a flammable gas-air mixture with oxygen from a certain volume
concentration. As an extreme case must be assumed with regard to explosion safety in
terms of the accident prevention regulations, it is important to prevent the concentration of
R 290 in the room air from reaching the lower flammability limit. This is based on the
(theoretical) case that the installation room is not ventilated and there is no air change,
that the refrigerant escapes immediately and completely and that there is an ignition
source at the same time!
For safe operation of the ice maker, it is sufficient if there is either a free space in the
installation room or sufficient ventilation.
Room ventilation
NOTE - indoor climate
In continuous operation, the warm air released by the cooling system creates a constant change in the indoor
climate.
Appropriate room ventilation is to be provided in the installation area of the ice maker in order to avoid a
temperature rise in the room temperature to over 32 ° C. This high ambient temperature affects the cooling
performance of the device!
Therefore, only set up the ice maker in adequately ventilated or air-conditioned rooms.
