Troubleshooting and Testing
Introduction
Since repair of the ELI 150 is limited to replacement of subassemblies the troubleshooting guide does not extend to
the component level
Troubleshooting
AC power connected to unit, back-light is on, nothing on display.
1) Check AC fuses.
2) Does unit power up on battery?
A) If yes, there is an AC power supply problem. Replace the motherboard.
B) If no, power supply or battery problem. Replace motherboard and check battery for possible
replacement.
3) Check the Keyboard/LCD cable going to the keyboard and the motherboard. If disconnected reconnect and test
again.
4) Replace the Keyboard/LCD cable.
With AC power on nothing displayed on LCD
1.) Press any key on the keyboard. If speaker tone is heard there is a possible LCD problem. Replace LCD.
Unit works on AC power but not on battery
1) Check battery fuse.
2) Open unit and check battery connections.
3) Replace battery.
CAUTION:
Remove AC power and battery fuse before attempting any disassembly.
Removal of the battery fuse will not cause a loss of ECG’s or of the configuration. This information
is stored in FLASH memory.
Dangerous voltages are present on the circuit board of the ELI 150. Caution should be taken
when removing or replacing the motherboard.
