Turn the unit over and remove the 4 screws, item 8, holding the writer to the bottom chassis.

Lift the bottom chassis straight off of the writer assembly.

CAUTION

Due to the weight of the battery (item # 4), the bottom chassis of the unit may tilt off the
writer while the unit is upside down. Make sure that the bottom chassis is supported while
performing this procedure.
