Step 2: Installing the Electronic Speed Control
Step 3: Installing the Flight Battery
❑
The flight battery should be mounted on top of the
fuselage anywhere between the back edge of the cowling
and the receiver. Its final location should be determined
after you've balanced the airplane.
❑
After determining the final location of the flight battery,
use the strip of Velcro
®
to hold the battery securely in place.
❑
Connect the motor leads on your ESC to the motor leads on the motor. Plug the ESC lead into its proper slot in the
receiver.
☞
If the motor leads on your ESC do not match the motor leads on the motor, you will need to remove the motor leads
from the motor and replace them with ones that are compatible with your ESC.
❑
Mount the ESC on top of the fuselage (near the fuselage
side), as far in front of the receiver as possible, using a small
piece of double-sided foam tape.
☞
The ESC is mounted near the fuselage side so you will
have room to mount the flight battery on the centerline of
the fuselage.
IMPORTANT
To reduce the possibility of radio interference, mount the ESC as far away from the receiver as possible.
IMPORTANT
We strongly suggest cutting two 1/4" diameter air-intake holes in the front and back of the plastic wing mount to allow
cool air to pass over the flight battery and ESC. This will keep them from overheating.
Step 4: Applying the Decals
❑
Working with one decal at a time, use a pair of scissors to carefully cut out the decal along its outer edges.
❑
Remove the protective backing from the decal and apply the decal to the airplane. (Use the box cover photos to
position the decals.) Lightly rub the decal with a soft cloth to remove any trapped air from beneath it.
☞
If any air bubbles form in the decal you can "prick" the bubble with a straight pin to release the air.
❑
Repeat the procedures above to apply the remaining decals. Rub each decal down thoroughly to adhere it into place.
