Use of welding machine
ATTENTION!
Do not use the machine if the machine or its cables are moist or wet. Dry the
machine and its parts before use. (For example, if the machine has been in a
cold vehicle and is brought in, the machine should be allowed to warm up and
dry in an airy place a few hours before use.
- Follow the instructions in this manual.
-Turn off the main switch of the welding machine and remove the plug from the
mains when the machine is not in use.
-Attach the earth clamp of the welding circuit as close as possible to the object to
be welded, and clean the fixing point from dirt, rust, paint or other insulating
material. Be extra careful when welding structures that are grounded to
protective earth.
- Avoid contact with the welding electrode if you are in contact with the material
to be welded, the protective earth or the electrode of another welding machine.
-Do not wind welding or mains cables around your body or limbs.
- Always use appropriate welding clothing and protective equipment.
-Do not weld galvanized materials. The materials used in galvanizing, such as
zinc, generate toxic fumes and gases during welding. Galvanic coatings must be
removed from and around the welding spot before welding.
- Also some chemicals for cleaning and degreasing may be very toxic when
burned and / or heated up.
Electromagnetic radiation
The use of a welding machine causes electromagnetic radiation.
-Electromagnetic radiation may interfere with sensitive electronic
devices such as pacemakers.
-If you have a pacemaker or similar device, consult your physician
before using the welding machine.
- Keep people using pacemakers away from the welding area.
-Do not wind the welding cables or other wires around your body, or hold them
near your head or backbone.
- Wind the earth- and welding cables together whenever possible.
Keep the earth- and welding cables on the same side of your body.
Handling of shielding gas cylinders
Protective gas cylinders contain high pressure gas, Handle shielding
gas cylinders with care. Be careful not to tip over or otherwise
damage the cylinders. Secure the cylinders into a rack or fixed
structure. Never make changes to cylinders or pressure
reducers.
Use only appropriate, high quality gas appliances. Make sure that the cylinders
are properly serviced and inspected.
Proper maintenance of welding equipment
- Have the machine serviced and repaired by an expert welding machine.
- Before warranty service contact your dealer or Weldi Oy
