Manual
Version 1.2.0
When
Rogowski version 750-495/040-002
is used, the type of the Rogowski
coils is specified with WAGO-I/O-
CHECK
or via register 32, bits 4 and 5. The
I/O module calculates the measured values internally on the basis of the selected
type or uses the specified coil parameters. There is no current transformer ratio
or user scaling.
Rogowski coils
Like current transformers, Rogowski coils are for electrically isolated
measurement of high currents. They consist of a special coil arrangement that is
removable, so it can be easily wrapped around a conductor or current bar, even
after installation. The AC current flowing through the conductor induces a
magnetic field; in accordance with the law of induction, this induces a frequency-
dependent voltage in the coil, which is proportional to the current. For example,
with type RT500, at 50 Hz, a current of 0 A to 500 A is transformed into a voltage
of 0 mV to 10 mV; with RT 2000, at 50 Hz, 0 A to 2000 A is transformed into
0 mV to 40 mV.
