Chapter 8
Software Configuration

In the previous chapters you completed all hardware aspects of the Galaxy system setup. However, before you
can operate your system for the first time, you must perform the initial software setup as described in this chapter.

When you turn your system on, your V

TOUCH

installation begins automatically. Once you see the blue

Expert

screen, you can begin the software configuration.

At a minimum, you must provide the

System

,

Cameras

and

Network

information. The other settings have factory

defaults that work well under most circumstances. However, if you purchased additional options for your system,
you must install them using the

Installed Options

page (see page 8.4).

Once you have completed the configuration settings, press the

Back

button to automatically save your changes

and continue installing the V

TOUCH

software. When the installation is finished, restart your computer when

prompted.

You can always return to the system configuration program after installation is complete if you wish to view the
current settings, install/remove options, and change loopback settings, for example. For information on running
the system configuration program after installation, see “Reconfiguration” on page 8.13.

Wireless Keyboard

The wireless keyboard (Figure 8-1) is the primary device to interface with V

TOUCH

software. The trackball and

left/right click buttons let you make button and menu selections.
