WARNING
To avoid risk of electrical shock, personal injury, or death, disconnect gas supply and electrical power to unit
before servicing. After servicing, reconnect electrical power and gas supply.
Grill Igniter
The unit uses a spark igniter to create ignition of
the grill burners. When the surface valve is turned
to the light position, the spark switch closes
sending a 120 VAC signal to the spark module and
output is received at the igniter from the spark
module.
To access the igniter:
1.
Access control panel components (
see Control
Panel Components Access section, page 19)
.
Disconnect wires and remove control panel.
2. Remove grill grates and flavor generators.
3. Locate igniter(s) and disconnect wiring.
4. Remove grill burners
(see Grill Burner section,
page 30)
.
5. Remove screw and igniter from burner.
6. Reverse procedure to reassemble.
If the igniter fails to spark, first do a resistance
check on the igniter. If the igniter shows 0
1
, ensure
power to the igniter from the module. If power is
supplied to the igniter and no spark, replace the
igniter.
