Disassembly

Procedures

WARNING

To avoid risk of electrical shock, personal injury, or death, disconnect power to unit before servicing,
unless testing requires power.

Defrost Heater Removal

Condition Requirements:

Lower Freezer Light Socket Removed
1. Disconnect defrost heater connector from harness.
2. Release heater clips and remove heater from

evaporator coil.

3. Reverse procedure for installation.

Evaporator Removal

Condition Requirements:

Defrost Heater Removed
Defrost Thermostat Removed

NOTE:

Reclaim refrigerant per instructions in Service

Procedures before attempting evaporator removal. To
avoid system contamination, do not leave system open
for more than 10 minutes.

1. Unbraze evaporator coil after completing reclaiming

procedures found in Service Procedures section of
this manual.

2. Release evaporator coil from clips by pulling coil off

of clips.

3. Reverse procedure for installation.

Ice Maker Removal

Condition Requirements:

Auger Ice Bucker Removed

NOTE:

Note position of fill tube before removing ice
maker.

1. Disconnect ice maker harness from rear bulkhead.
2. Loosen two screws that hold ice maker to left side of

freezer cavity.

3. Remove screw and ice maker from freezer.

4. Reverse procedure for installation.

NOTE:

Make sure to get fill tube inserted in to fill cup

fully when reassembling.
