Troubleshooting LCD Messages
LCD Message Meaning/Cause(s) Action
“Command not accepted.
Device is busy”
CONTEXT: Command to remote
point or zone.
The remote panel is unable to
execute the command at this
time, probably because it is
still executing a previous
command. Try again in a few seconds.
“Disable is not allowed
on this zone”
CONTEXT: Zone disable
The configuration data file
specifies that the zone cannot
be disabled.
“ERROR: CRC TEST FAILED”
“ MX1 Keyboard VX.XX”
“Calc CRC: 0xXXXX Stored
CRC: 0xXXXX”
CONTEXT: LCD/Keyboard
start-up
Microprocessor cannot read
from flash (microprocessor is
faulty) , OR Replace LCD/Keyboard
PCB.
Problem with LCD/Keyboard
program download, OR Download LCD/Keyboard
program again.
Invalid program binary file
was downloaded. Check and re-download
LCD/Keyboard program.
“ERROR: CANNOT
COMMUNICATE WITH MAIN

communicate with Controller.

firmware programmed.

correctly inserted into J8 of
Keyboard and J30 of
Controller.
Check that Controller
indicators B and C are
flashing to show normal
processing.
Press SILENCE buzzer and
recheck when programming
is completed.

CONTEXT:
Alarm Devices Test operate
Alarm Devices enable/ disable
Configuration data file corrupt
or memory corrupt. Use Smart Config to extract
the active database and
check it matches the master
file. Check that point 241.1
is present in the database
and ha
s a “check” in the
“can be disabled” column.
Restart the panel.
