a. Optionally, the autosave function can be disabled in favor of manual saving. Manual saving is done in the Results tab
and pressing the Save button after the user has finished inspecting a fiber endface.
Filename labeling and auto-saving mode setup parameters
Next, the user will navigate to page 2/2 of the setup tab to fill in the remaining fields: Analysis parameters , tip type , and optional
auto-center/Crop . The descriptions for these fields have been explained previously.
Page 2/2 – Pre-analysis setup parameters
Initially, there is no screen shown until the user presses Resume . Before pressing it, define the live-scope functions:
Analysis: IEC inspection rings criteria is activated.
Auto-Freeze:
freezes when the image detected is in focus.
Rects/Dots: marking of scratches and contaminates.
Shake:
optional heavy vibration compensation.
MPO mode: OFF. This is for multi-fiber connectors.
The following screenshot for a SC-APC-M fiber endface is shown.
When the fiber endface is properly aligned and focused, the screen will have some blue text that appears if one of the auto-save
options is selected: “ Tap screen to save ” (Autosave to Tap) with the pathname save message or for Auto-save after Freeze: a regular
Freeze (GUI button/fiberscope button) or Auto-freeze action will trigger the pathname save message.
