2.2 Intended use
The Vaillant external 3-way valve is built in accordance
with the latest technical standards and generally recog-
nized rules of safety. Nonetheless, improper use or use
contrary to the intended use could give rise to dangers
to the life and health of the user or of third parties or
damage to the unit or other property.
This unit is not designed to be used by persons (includ-
ing children) with impaired physical, sensory or mental
abilities or who lack adequate experience and/or knowl-
edge unless they are supervised by a person responsible
for their safety or are given directions by that person in
how to use the unit.
Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the unit.
The external 3-way valve is intended solely for use as
a distributor in the heating flow line between the heat
pump geoTHERM ../2 and ../3 and the multi-functional
storage cylinder VPS /2.
Any other use above and beyond that shall be consid-
ered contrary to the intended use. The manufacturer/
supplier shall not be liable for any damage resulting
from such use. Such use is entirely at the user's own
risk.
Intended use also includes reading and following the
installation instructions and all other applicable docu-
ments, and fulfilling inspection and servicing require-
ments.
2.3 Follow safety instructions
This accessory should only be installed by an accredited
specialist technician, who shall be responsible for com-
pliance with existing standards and regulations. This
technician shall also take responsibility for correct
installation and commissioning of the item.
When installing the accessory, follow the safety
instructions in this manual.
2.4 Regulations, standards, rules and directives
As part of the installation, commissioning and operation
of the heat pump and the DHW storage you must take
into account the current versions of the following regu-
lations or standards, along with any local directives or
guidelines that may apply.
Electricity at work act.
Health and safety at work act.
Relevant Utility supplier’s regulations.
Water regulations and by-laws.
Environment agency and local council requirements
regarding bore holes, water courses, or noise levels.
Gas safety installation and use regulations concern-
ing any associated gas fired heat source used within
the heating system.
