9.3

Driving chains

The bale wrapping machine

TWISTER

, is provided with two driving chains that need routine lubrication and require tensioning. They are located in

the wrapping machine table, on the LH side of the machine, under a shield. They provide the drive for the cylinders rotating the bales.



To tighten the main driving chain (1), transferring the drive from the engine, loose the two screws

(2), move the tensioner (3) and retighten the screws (2)



To tighten the chain (4), transferring the drive between the cylinders, loose the nut (5), tighten the

screw (6) and retighten the nut (5).



Remember also of routine lubrication of the slow-speed mechanism (7), that ensures the free ro-

tation of the first cylinder in one direction, during bale loading.

9.4

Rotating arm drive

Hydraulic motor with brake is used to drive the rotating arms. The motor drives the arms trough transmis-

sion (1) that must be lubricated with grease. Control the tightening of the screws (2) and (3), holding the

motor in the appropriate position. By loosening the screws (2) and (3), you may correct the clearance be-

tween the gears in the transmission. The screw (2) is set in a longitudinal hole enabling rotation of the

motor together with the cogwheel placed around the screw (3). After the correct setting of the motor, tight-

en the screw (2) and (3) with the torque of 140Nm.

The rotating arm axle is supported by two bearings: of the ball and conical types. If the arms feature

with a perceptible axial play, it may be decreased on the conical bearing (1). For this purpose, bend out the

tooth of the washer (2), protecting the nut (3) against untightening and, next, bend in the protecting tooth of

the washer (2) at an appropriate place. The lubricator (4) serves for lubrication of the bearings.
