4. SYSTEM NODES
Entel Ultra system nodes (telephone or video) are housed in IP65 rated lockable steel enclosures. These
includes a fused mains termination block, a low voltage switch mode power supply unit, an auto-BST trade
timeclock and either 1 or 2 distribution/video add-on boards. Leads are provided for an optional 12V 7.0Ah
rechargeable battery.
4.01 SYSTEM NODE OPTIONS
There are 4 models of system node; 8 or 16 port for standard telephone systems and 8 or 16 port for video
systems, see part numbers below;

4.02 INSTALLATION
The system node should be located in a dry, secure area which is easily accessible for termination and future
service. The cable entry plate is normally on the top with the door hinged on the left hand side. The door can
be swapped to hinge from the right or the back plate can be inverted if the cable entry plate is required on the
bottom. Always ensure proprietary cable glands are used to maintain the IP65 rating of the enclosure.
4.03 EARTH BONDING
All door entry metalwork e.g. system node cabinet, door panel backbox & fascia, fireman’s switches, etc. must
be bonded to the Mains Earth terminal using a minimum of 2.5 mm

cable.
4.04 MAINS SUPPLY
The 240V AC mains connection should be taken from the landlords supply and terminated in the fused screw
terminal block provided in the system node. Replacement fuse = 3A (1 inch domestic mains type).
