CLEAR ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
For detailed resetting instructions, refer to the AUTOPULSE
Detection and Control Systems Manual (Part No. 430261).
NOTICE
If the AUTOPULSE Control System is
utilizing an ANSUL AUTOMAN II-C releas-
ing device for pneumatic actuation,
AUTOPULSE panel will remain in trouble
condition until ANSUL AUTOMAN II-C
release is re-cocked.
If utilizing an ANSUL AUTOMAN II-C release with thermal
detectors, detectors must be cooled down, below their set
point, before release can be reset.
Refer to ANSUL AUTOMAN II-C Installation, Operation, and
Maintenance Manuals, Part No. 17788 and 31496, for
detailed instructions.
CHECK ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT
Piping and Atomizers
A fire condition could cause damage to the piping, atomiz-
ers, and possibly the supports. Check piping and supports
for mechanical damage or corrosion. Check all rigid pipe
supports and all fitting connections. Disassemble and clean
water supply line strainer located on water tank assembly.
Remove atomizers and inspect for damage, corrosion, or
obstructions; then clean and re-install. Examine each
atomizer for mechanical damage, corrosion, or obstruc-
tions. Disassemble and clean the water supply line strainer
located on each atomizer. Replace Y strainer screen (Part
No. 436347).
Selector Valves
When electric power has been removed, the electric
selector valve will automatically reset itself.
For pneumatic selector valves, push the green pressure
relief button on the appropriate selector valve to relieve
pressure, then reset the visual indicator by depressing it.
Electric Detection System
ANSUL AUTOMAN II-C RELEASING DEVICE – For
complete resetting instructions, refer to Installation,
Operation, and Maintenance Manuals, Part No. 17788 and
31496.
If system was activated automatically and ANSUL
AUTOMAN II-C releasing device is not in the ARMED
position, complete the following steps:
1. Pull ring pin from red strike button and open enclosure
cover. If weatherproof enclosure is provided and red
strike button is not visible, remove screws and enclo-
sure cover.
2. Arm the releasing device by using the cocking lever
(Part No. 26310).
NOTICE
If release will not remain in ARMED
position, check detection system for
source of alarm signal.
3. Remove the cocking lever.
4. Insert the ring pin through the puncture pin shaft.
5. Remove empty cartridge from release.
6. Remove the ring pin from the puncture pin shaft.
7. Manually check releasing device by striking red push
button.
8. Rearm releasing device by repeating Steps 2 and 3.
AUTOPULSE CONTROL SYSTEM – For complete reset-
ting instructions, refer to the AUTOPULSE Detection and
Control Systems Manual (Part No. 430261).
Check detection system by activating a detector. Control
unit and releasing device should activate upon signal from
detector. Allow sufficient time for detector to reset before
attempting to reset control unit or rearm releasing device.
Resetting and Recharge
CAUTION
!
Do not attempt to remove empty cartridge before arming
release.
CAUTION
!
Take all precautions to avoid firing the releasing
device when the ring pin is installed. Firing the
release with the ring pin in place will damage and
possibly destroy the solenoid.
CAUTION
!
Do not install replacement cartridge at this time.
CAUTION
!
Do not install ring pin in puncture pin shaft.
