When the MC150 is supplied with the Linear MC150 power supply (70-20254) the incoming power
is fused through F1 and stepped down by means of a transformer. A 24 VAC tap on the secondary
of the transformer is fused through F2 and applied directly to the collimator projection lamp circuit.
110 volts or 230 volts incoming power can be selected via the switch on the power supply chassis.
This +28 VDC supply is then routed through fuse F3 on the power supply board and then to
collimator receptical connections C and D.
8.2.2 LIGHT-FIELD LAMP CIRCUIT Refer to Schematic 70-08372 and Assembly Drawing
70-08371. This drawing is provided in the Eureka Manual.
The light field lamp voltage is switched on and off by the 15 Amp Triac located on the lamp bracket. The gate
signal is controlled by the output of U1 with an ON time of 25 seconds determined by R15 and C5. The timer
is triggered by the front panel “LAMP” push button switch. The surge resistor in series with the lamp filaments
offers high resistance at turn-on which reduces the in-rush current thereby greatly extending the bulb life.
