Step 14. CHECK THE TYPE OF HYDRAULIC

FLUID IN THE TRUCK.

Refer to the tag on the

WideSpin 1540 TEC.
The machine was factory tested using “vegetable”

based biodegradable hydraulic ﬂuid. Approximately

1.9 liters (1/2 gallon) of vegetable based ﬂuid can

remain in the WideSpin 1540 TEC hydraulic system

after testing. This ﬂuid will mix well with mineral based

ﬂuids. However, when vegetable ﬂuid is mixed with

mineral ﬂuids, it can have a minor effect on the overall

ﬂuid properties. If this ﬂuid is not compatible with the

ﬂuid in the truck, or if concerns of contamination to the

trucks system are present, ﬂush the hydraulic system

in the WideSpin 1540 TEC before attaching the

hoses to the truck. Refer to the Maintenance Section

of the Operators Manual for the WideSpin 1540

TEC Broadcast Top Dresser. See section “Hydraulic

System”. This procedure is meant for qualiﬁed service

personnel only.

Step 15.

Connect the top dresser’s

hydraulic hoses

[30 and 31]

to the truck’s remote

hydraulic accessory quick disconnects.

Refer to the directions in the Cushman/Textron

Turf-Truckster Operators Manual and on the decal

located on the trucks remote hydraulics box cover.

Use Truckster ports “7” and “8”. The top dresser

hydraulic hoses will be “9” and “10”. Protect the hose

ends and the connection ports from contamination.

To Avoid Serious Bodily Injury and

To Avoid Serious Damage to the

WideSpin 1540 TEC,

Both Hydraulic Hoses Must Be Properly and

Completely Connected To the Truck.

SECURELY CONNECT ALL

QUICK DISCONNECT FITTINGS!!

HOSES MUST BE PROPERLY CONNECTED TO

THE TRUCK. THE CONNECTION MUST BE

SECURE. IF THE PRESSURE OUT HOSE IS

NOT CONNECTED PROPERLY, EXCESSIVE

PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP IN THE WIDESPIN

1540 TEC HYDRAULIC SYSTEM AND CAUSE

SERIOUS DAMAGE.
