5. Turn out the Linepull Control (2) slowly, and this will start to allow the reel to pay out
the rope or conductor as it is pulled by the load on it. Continue to turn out the
Linepull Control until it is fully out and no tension remains in the rope/conductor.
Freewheeling Pay-out w/ Mechanical Brake
The Freewheeling ‘PAY OUT’ mode disconnects the hydraulic Drive System and
allows the reel to rotate freely as the rope or conductor is pulled off. A manually
adjusted mechanical drag brake (Optional) prevents over spin of the reel. This
procedure is usually used when the pulling rope is being pulled from the Puller end to
the Tensioner end.

With the reel stationary:
1. Place the Direction Control Lever (4) in the NEUTRAL position.
2. Turn the Brake Control (3) to the APPLY position. The engine can now be shut-off.
(See Engine section).
3. Remove the Lock Pin from the drive sprocket.
THERE MUST BE NO TENSION ON THE LINE WHEN REMOVING THE LOCKING
PIN
4. Pull off the conductor or rope as required using drag brake to prevent reel from
over spinning.
5. When line payout is complete, reinsert Lock Pin in drive sprocket. You may have to
rotate the reel by hand to line up the Lock Pin hole so the Lock Pin can be properly
inserted.
