Turn off burner and remove pressure gauge. Install gauge

port/bleeder plug and tighten. Start burner again.

WARNING

Do not loosen or remove any oil line fittings while burner is in

operation.

FLAME FAILURE: The boiler controls operate the burner

automatically. If for unknown reasons the burner ceases to

fire and the reset button on the primary control has tripped,

the burner has experienced ignition failure.

WARNING

Do not attempt to start the burner when oil has accumulated in the

combustion chamber or when the unit is full of vapor, or is hot. The

operation of all boiler controls must be checked, before installation of

the boiler is completed.

TEST CONTROLS (R7184P)

Check thermostat operation. Raise and lower thermostat set-

ting as required to start and stop burner.
Verify primary control features using procedures outlined in

instructions furnished with control or instructions as follows:
The R7184P (Beckett HW) is a microprocessor-based control.

The indicator light provides diagnostic information for lock-

out, recycling and patented Cad Cell status. There is a manual

reset button to exit the Lockout Mode and enter the idle Mode.

Pump Priming Cycle

II.

: To facilitate purging air from the oil

lines and filters, the R7184 can be placed in a purge routine by

pressing and releasing the reset button during the safety check,

delayed valve-on, ignition or carry-over periods.

Limited Recycle

III.

: This feature limits the number of recycle tri-

als (for each call for heat) to a maximum of three trials. If the flame

is lost three times and does not successfully satisfy a call for heat,

the R7184 locks out.

Limited Reset

IV.

(Restricted Mode): In order to limit the

accumulation of unburned oil in the combustion area, the

control can only be reset three times. The reset count returns

to zero each time a call is successfully completed.
To reset from Restricted Mode: Press and hold the reset but-

ton for 30 seconds. When the LED flashes twice, the device

has reset.
T-T Jumper: All models have pre-installed T-T jumper. Do

Flashing 1/2 second on, 1/2 second off: system

Cad Cell Resistance Check: For proper operation it is
