To backup the device configuration:
1. From the left-side menu, click Administration > Configuration Backup .
2. Click Backup . A dialog appears, letting you save the backup file to your
computer.
To restore a configuration from a backup:
1. From the left-side menu, click Administration > Configuration Backup.
2. Click Browse to locate the backup file.
3. Click Restore Configuration to restore the device to your backup.
4. Change the password to one that users prefer.

Virus Pattern File
As new viruses and other Internet threats are written, released to the public, and dis-
covered, Trend Micro collects their telltale signatures and incorporates the informa-
tion into the virus and other pattern files.
Trend Micro updates the file as often as several times a week, and sometimes several
times a day when people release multiple variants of a widespread threat. By default,
InterScan Gateway Security Appliance checks for updates no less often than once a
week. If a particularly damaging virus is discovered “in the wild,” or actively
circulating, Trend Micro releases a new pattern file as soon as a detection routine for
the threat is available (usually within a few hours).
Note: Pattern file and scan engine updates are only available to registered InterScan "
Gateway Security Appliance users with active Maintenance.
