To select FTP Scanning (Antivirus) – Notification recipients:
1. From the left-side menu, click FTP > Scanning.
2. Click the Notification tab.
3. To modify the message that appears in the FTP client when the appliance detects
a threat, edit the inline message under
User Notification .
4. Select the Administrator check box to enable InterScan Gateway Security
Appliance to send a notification if it detects a virus or malware.
You can customize the text of the email notification. The appliance provides
helpful variables for use in customizing messages. A list of these variables is
accessible from the
View variable list link at the top right of the Notification tab.
5. Click Save .
Configuring FTP Anti-Spyware
Configuring InterScan Gateway Security Appliance to scan FTP traffic for spy-
ware/grayware is a three-step process. First, select what to scan for (Target tab). Next,
set the action for InterScan Gateway Security Appliance to take when it detects an
item infected that contains spyware/grayware (Action tab). Finally, decide whom to
notify when InterScan Gateway Security Appliance detects an item containing spy-
ware/grayware (Notification tab).
Note: Infected item - FTP infected items are spyware/grayware or files containing
spyware/grayware that are downloaded using FTP.
