3.11. MAINSTREAM CO

2

 SENSOR 

This module is supplied with the device as an option on a separate order and enables 
to monitor: 

  concentration of 

СО2 at the expiration end (EtСО2), 

  inspiratory CO2 concentration (FiCO2), 

  capnogram, 

  respiratory rate (RR), determined by capnogram. 

The operation principle of the mainstream CO2 sensor is based on the method of measuring the 
absorption of infrared radiation in the absorption spectrum of carbon dioxide.  

 

Only  mainstream  CO

2

  modules  supplied  by  Triton  Electronic  Systems  Ltd. 

are compatible with the monitor. 

The  external  mainstream  CO2  sensor  is  connected  to  the  device  through  the  "Infoport"  con-
nector installed on the left side panel of the device (Fig. 1-4, position 10). 

The module is connected to the ventilation circuit using matching devices - adapters of sampling 
lines (ventilation adapters) of various types, which enable monitoring patients from newborns to 
adults.

Attention!  It  is  not  recommended  to  connect  the  external  mainstream  CO2
