D) Calibration of the capnometry module
During operation, after replacement of the oxygen sensor or if the measurement error increases,
calibration may be required. Calibration is carried out with atmospheric air (approximate oxygen
content 21%).
Perform the following steps:
Enter the general parameters menu (it. 1.3.8) (see Fig. 2-33) and select the sidestream sam-
pling mode “sidestream".

Enter the service menu of the device (Annex 2) (see Fig. 2-34). Next to the O2 [%] sign, acti-
vate the button
Calibr >>
.

Notes:
o
Calibration can be carried out only when the device is in the full accuracy mode, which will be in-
dicated by the absence of the

and
ISO accuracy
messages on the display.
o
Calibration of other channels for measuring gases and anesthetics shall be performed at the fac-
tory. Calibration is performed in the same way, in the Service menu.
2.5.8.4 Self-Testing System of the Gas Analysis Module
The self-diagnostic system monitors the operating conditions of the module and in necessary
cases (occlusion of the path or ingress of moisture into it) automatically takes measures to elim-
inate the causes that interfere its normal operation. In case of failure, it informs about the im-
possibility of further work and the corresponding reasons. In addition, the system monitors the
state of the technical parameters of various internal units of the gas analysis module and their
proper operation.
To inform about possible deviations, the following text messages can be displayed in the win-
dow of the gas analysis module:
Message
Description of the situation
Troubleshooting
WARMING
The thermal stabilization of the modes of the meas-
uring chamber active elements after switching on
(lasts up to 60 s, then the module is ready for oper-
ation).
CALIBRATION
Automatic zero calibration (lasts about 10 sec). Re-
peats every 5 - 10 minutes along with the drying
cycle.
