Firmware update
Select all VMCs that are going to be updated in Patchelor device manager, right
click and choose
Update Firmware
from the right mouse button context dialog.
Choose VMC firmware package from location you previously stored it on your
computer and confirm.
In case the firmware update fails, pay attention to the following configuration condi-
tions:
• A non-compatible video source is connected to the input. One solution is to
leave the VMC input open, or remove the video source and connect the input
with the output of another VMC, or create a loop from input to output of the
same VMC.
• In some cases, e. g. with USB-driven network adapters, the Patchelor may run
into timing problems because the VMC does not stay in bootloader mode for the
expected time. Switch off the VMC, keep the VMC button pressed and power up
the VMC. When the VMC displays

, start the upgrade in Patchelor.
The upgrade will reset the settings in the VMC Config Dialog. With the firmware
upgrade please adapt the device settings in the configuration (
Configure
context
menu in Patchelor’s Device Manager).
After upgrading check the video resolution of the video source. In some cases
readjust the resolution settings.
Using video cables longer than five meters and higher video resolutions may decline
the video quality. Stay with 1024 x 768 pixels in this case.

All VMCs in an installation must have the same firmware versions.
VMCs with firmware versions 1.x and 2.x cannot be used in the same
configuration.
