Refuelling

BEFORE DRIVING

To remove the fuel tank cap, turn the cap
slowly counterclockwise, then pause
slightly before removing it.
It is not unusual to hear a slight wooshing
sound when the cap is opened.

The removed cap can be stored on the back
side of the fuel filler door.

When installing the cap, turn the cap
clockwise until you hear a click; this
indicates the cap is fully closed.

CAUTION

When replacing the fuel cap

• Make sure the cap is installed securely to prevent fuel spillage when driving.
• Only use a genuine Toyota fuel tank cap designed for your vehicle. Doing otherwise

may cause a fire or other incident which may result in death or serious injury.

NOTICE

To prevent damage to the cap, apply force only in the turning direction to the cap. Do not
pull or prise it.
