Opening, closing and locking the doors
BEFORE DRIVING
Rear door child-protector lock
When the child-protector switch is in the
Lock position, the rear door cannot be
opened by the inside door handle. The door
can be opened normally from outside the
vehicle.
1. Unlock.
2. Lock.
NOTICE
To avoid an accident, Toyota
recommends the rear door child-
protector lock feature is used whenever
small children are in the vehicle.
CAUTION
Observe the following precautions while driving the vehicle. Failure to do so may result
in a door opening and an occupant falling out, resulting in death or serious injury.
• Always wear a seatbelt and ensure it is correctly adjusted.
• Ensure all doors are properly closed.
• Always lock all the doors.
• Do not pull the inside handle of the doors while driving. The door may open and an
occupant fall out resulting in serious injury or death.
• Be especially careful for the driver’s door, as the door can be opened even if the
inside lock button is in the Lock position.
• Set the rear door child-protector locks when children are seated in the rear seats.
