If you have more than 1.7 GB of memory, Windows NT 4.0 cannot be properly
installed. To install Windows NT 4.0:

1 Reduce the installed memory to less than 1.7 GB.

2 Install Windows NT.

3 Update Windows NT with Microsoft’s Service Pack 6a or later.

4 Shut down the system and reinstall your additional memory.
