Changing the original mode to copy
You can select the original mode suitable for the image to copy.
TEXT/PHOTO: Select this mode to copy the original with text and photographs mixed.
TEXT: Select this mode to copy the original with text only or text and fine illustration only.
PHOTO: Select this mode to copy the original with photographs only.
BACKGROUND ERASE: Select this mode to copy the original with the dark background.
Follow the steps below to change the original mode.

1 Place the original.

Select the original mode to copy.
You can change the original mode on the basic setting menu.
1) Press the [SETTING/OK] button to enter the basic setting menu.
2) Press the or button to select “TEXT/PHOTO”.
The choice may be “TEXT”, “PHOTO”, or “BACKGROUND ERASE” if it is set as the default.
3) Press the [SETTING/OK].
4) Press the , , , or button to select the original mode.
5) Press the [SETTING/OK] button to return to the highest layer of the menu: if you press the [START] button
instead, the equipment starts copying immediately.
When you want to exit from the basic setting menu without changing the setting, select “CANCEL” with the or
button and press the [SETTING/OK] button. You can also exit from the menu layers with the [CLEAR/STOP]
button.
3 Press the [START] button.
The equipment starts copying.
