TAD MS 400V / 230V
5.
Mains connection
The control is wired in a ready-to-connect fashion using a 16 A
CEE plug and a cable with an approximate length of 1 m in com-
pliance with Fig.
a
. In doing this, ensure that the supply discon-
nection is easily accessible after the installation.
Hydraulic motor connection
Connect the hydraulic motor to the connection terminal X4 while
observing the correct phase assignment. See also fig.
a
and
b
.
NOTICE
Incorrect connection of mains voltage
•
Ensure that on-site fusing of 10 A is avail-
able.
•
Observe the rotating field.
DANGER
Hazardous voltage
A main switch is installed for separating all poles
from the mains voltage.
When carrying out repair and maintenance work,
secure the main switch against unauthorised or
accidental switching-on.
6.
Valve connection hydraulic motor
Fig.
a
In addition to the valve connection, you can also connect
the swing lip sensor to X8 for the function "automatic return".
7.
STOP circuit
Fig.
a
Connect one or several emergency stop switches to the
connection terminal J4.3/4. In case of interruption, the loading
bridge stops.
CAUTION
Tripping or falling hazard when loading!
With the control switched off, triggered emer-
gency stop switch or active restart lock, the float-
ing position of the loading bridge is not active
and the vertical movements of the truck are not
balanced out.
•
It is not permitted to drive on the loading
bridge until restart.
Fig.
b
Connection of the roll-up protection mechanism
To provide for protection from being drawn in, with fixed cable
routing a roll-up protection mechanism with an evaluation unit can
be connected to the safety circuit J4.3/4. The evaluation unit must
comply with PL c Cat3 as per EN 13849-1.
8.
Sensor resting position
It is required to connect the sensor for the resting position in order
to carry out the combined operation "mutual locking of door" (pro-
gramming setting: menu item 17, value=0). The door can only be
closed in resting position.

tion terminal J5.

Connection possibility for a wheel chock sensor.
If you connected a wheel chock to J6, select menu item 15 "Con-
nection J6 wheel chock / resting position" in menu 1 "Basic set-
tings loading bridge" and set the value 1.
The loading bridge can only be lifted and extended if the
wheel chock has been correctly positioned.

10. Motor connection
Connect the motor once the mains voltage is available. In installa-
tion step
Mains connection
, also refer to fig.
a
and
b
.
11. Motor connection line
Fig.
a
The motor connection line is pre-assembled for the motor
and the digital limit switch DES. The connection is implemented
by fixed cable routing of the motor connection line and using cor-
responding connectors. A digital limit switch complying with PL c
as per EN 13849-1 must be used (DES3, DES4).
Detail
b
Spring fracture safety device / roll-down locking mech-
anism
If a spring fracture safety device is tripped, the control must be
protected against restart by spring fracture or roll-down safety
switches. The switches must be used as normally closed contact
subject to forced actuation complying with EN 60947-5-1, An-
nex K. With fixed cable routing, the switches are connected to the
terminal board of the DES.
12. External command transmitters
If you connect external control devices to terminal J1 of the con-
trol, the following variants are provided:

Connection to J1 for external control devices with OPEN,
STOP, CLOSE.
Fig.
b
Connection to J1 for external control devices with OPEN
and CLOSE.

Connection to J1 for external control devices with a
OPEN-STOP-CLOSE switching sequence
Set menu item 51 to 1.
Fig.
d
Connection to J7 for external control devices with a
OPEN-CLOSE switching sequence
Set menu item 50 to the value 0 (default setting).
CAUTION
Crush hazard and risk of being struck by the
closing door
Persons can be struck when the door is closed
or collide with the door.
•
Mount external pulse transmitters always
within the range of view of the door.
•
The door must be visible from the place of
operation.
13. Photoelectric sensor
Connect the photoelectric sensor as specified for the following
variants:

b
4-wire photoelectric sensor LS5 with testing
Fig.
c
Reflection light barrier
Then select the corresponding photoelectric sensor under menu
item 36.
If you have selected the value 3 "Photoelectric sensor mounted in
the frame", the next CLOSE run executed by the control is a
"learning cycle" for detecting the position.
This learning cycle is indicated by the value E10 in the LED dis-
play.
NOTICE
Do not interrupt the learning cycle
The learning cycle must not be interrupted, so
that no incorrect position is recorded.
