To complete the setup, enter the relevant measurements into the X Configuration Tool
(see chapter 6 The X Configuration Tool on page 36 on how to do this). The angle
of the eye tracker is 22° if the desk stand is placed on a horizontal surface. If the desk
stand is attached to a tripod the angle depends on the adjustments of the tripod.
4.7 Mounting the Tobii X1 Light using the laptop
mounting bracket
The laptop mounting bracket is used to attach the Tobii X1 Light Eye Tracker to a
laptop.
The display size of the laptop must not exceed the recommended display sizes as
discussed in the Adhesive Mounting Bracket column in section 7.5 Appendix E:
Recommended display sizes on page 47. If larger displays are used, there is a high
risk that parts of the display will not be tracked.
Before starting the assembly, ensure that all necessary parts are available, i.e. the
laptop mounting bracket, digital angle gauge and measurement tape.
4.7.1 The mounting process
Run the installation program that can be found on the CD.
1. Attach the laptop mounting bracket to the back of the
eye tracker using the supplied screws. If the black metal
adapter is attached to the back of the eye tracker this has
to be removed first.
2. Loosen the hand screws at the back of the laptop
mounting bracket and slide the laptop mounting bracket
onto the laptop. Once the bracket is in place, tighten
the hand screws on the back of the mounting bracket to
secure it to the laptop monitor.
