The second step in preparing the battery pack for use is to select the correct
universal connector. The connector that should be used is the connector with the
letter ‘N’ on it (see image below).
Before the battrery pack is used it needs to be charged. To charge the battery pack,
connect the charger to a power socket and ensure that the diode on the charger is
lit up before connecting the charger to the battery pack. If the diode on the charger
is not lit, the charger does not provide any charging. Common reasons for the diode
not being lit is that the power cord is not properly connected either to the charger
or to the power socket. When charging the diode will be red. When the charging is
completed it will turn green.
Once charging has been completed, the built-in power meter (seen in the top right
corner of the battery unit in the image above) can be used to control the current
power level of the battery. When pressing the ‘TEST’ button on the battery pack, the
diodes in the power meter lights up. When fully charged, the top four lights will be lit.
