4.4 Mounting the Tobii X1 Light using a VESA
mounting bracket
It is highly recommended that the mounting bracket is only used with “flat screen”
monitors that have a free VESA mounting system (10 cm / 3.94 in. x 10 cm / 3.94
in. or 7.5 cm / 2.95 in. x 7.5 cm / 2.95 in. free mounting holes). This is because
mounting the bracket between the screen and the monitor stand can be very difficult
depending on the design of the monitor stand. In addition, as the thickness of monitor
stand back plates varies, the supplied screws are not guaranteed to be long enough
to work with such a setup.
Be sure that the mounting bracket system does not cover the fan of the monitor onto
which it is being mounted. If the fan is covered, the monitor could overheat causing
an increased risk for fire and burns. Use a monitor with a fan that is not covered by the
mounting bracket.
If the distance between the front of the screen and the eye tracker appears to be too
large, use the spacers to regulate this distance. The spacers can be combined to
achieve the desired distance.
If the eye tracker will be mounted below the screen, the supplied spacers in the
Spacer Kit and longer screws found in the Alternative Mounting Kit need to be used
in order to place the eye tracker in the correct position. The spacers and longer
screws are also necessary if mounting the VESA mounting bracket between the
monitor stand.
