5.1. DEVICE CHECK USING THE TERMINAL PROGRAM
5.1.1.Communications with a PC
Settings can be easily checked by connecting the
device to a PC installed with a built-in terminal
program. Use a standard serial cable (reverse cable)
for connection.
For example, the Windows Hyper Terminal application
can be used as a terminal program.
Note: For more information concerning Hyper Terminal
installation and usage, refer to the instruction manual of
your PC or Windows on-line help.
1. Disconnect the device from the network.
2. Connect the serial port of the device to the PC’s
COM port.
5.1.2. PC COM Port Settings
Match transmission parameters so that
communications can be established between the
terminal program and the device. Shown below are initial device settings. Set the following values for the
COM port setting.
• Baud rate: 19,200bps
• Data bit: 8
• Parity: None
• Stop bit: 1
• Flow control: Xon/Xoff
Note: These device setting values can be changed using Internet Explorer. If changed, be sure to also set the
terminal program to the new value.
