CHAPTER 3. Performing Settings with Internet Explorer
Max Bit Rate
Define the maximum limit of transmission data rate. This value only relates to the video transmission rate. A
PC can log into the unit with a transmission rate equal to or lower than the set value.
In streaming mode, this value indicates the data transmission rate of the streamed video. Select a video
transmission rate between 10 kbit/s and 1 Mbit/s.
Encoding Standard
Set the encoding standard to H.261 or H.263.
H.261 : Compresses CIF-size video images.
H.263 : Capable of compressing 2CIF-size images. If this format is selected, resolution can be doubled,
allowing transmission of clearer images. The device’s power must be turned off and on again when
switching between H.261 and H.263 formats.
Live Video on I.E.
Select whether live video images are displayed by MJPEG format or by H.261 or H.263 formats (ActiveX
control).
This function is only valid for live video images as displayed by way of Internet Explorer, and does not affect
displays by software decoder.
Note: If the ActiveX control is not installed on the PC, a corresponding message is displayed when the display
is switched to the live image screen. Install the ActiveX control from the CD-R supplied with the device.
Color/B&W
Set the live video image to "Color" or "B/W."
The camera’s power must be turned off and on again when switching between the two.
