SHEAVE ALIGNMENT
With the use of a straight edge, sheave alignment can be checked quickly and accurately. One
of the sheaves will have to be loose on its shaft in order to make adjustment. Adjust until all 4 points
are in contact with the straight edge (see Figure below).
Repeat on the other side of sheaves and
then re-tighten.
If a face width variation exists, measure the difference between each side of the narrowest
sheave and adjust until both sides are an equal distance from the straight edge.
BELT REPLACEMENT CONSIDERATIONS
IMPORTANT:
Do not
force belts onto sheaves by using a pry bar or by rolling
the sheaves.
NOTICE: Match the size of the new belts to existing ones, except if the
sheave groove size was adjusted. Replace drive belts in complete sets.
Purchase set of belts from the same manufacture.
