Active alignment
: Executes an Active Alignment using an (external) light source and
power meter. The power meter must be connected to one of the GPXs "Analog" ports. The
analog input reading can be configured under Configuration - Analog Input Configuration
with the Channel set to the appropriate port.
Splice only :
Executes the basic splice process according the splice parameters. This
process will not attempt to align the fibers, so is useful when the fibers have been manually
aligned.
Loss estimation :
Estimates the loss in a splice, based on the appearance of the cores
in the splice region. For more accurate estimation, a suitable calibration file is required.

Load Taper :
Moves the fiber holding blocks into the predetermined locations for a
particular Taper Process and automatically performs anti-backlash.
Taper:
Executes the taper process. See section 5.14 for further information regarding
tapering.
One Button Process:
This executes the Splice Routine/Sequence found under Splice
Menu - Splice Process Editor, which generally includes alignment and gapping. The blue
button labeled "START" on the front right corner of the GPX has the same function.
Stop:
Halts the machine whatever process is being executed. The blue button labeled
"STOP" on the right front corner of the GPX has the same function.
Reset:
Resets the parameters of the GPX to the default values
Initialize
: Initializes the GPX and allows FFS3 to synchronize with the machine state. The
system should automatically initialize after the power is turned on. If the machine is stopped
due to any reason, it should be reinitialized by clicking on this button.
