5.11.2 End View Quality Tool
The End View Quality Tool provides a software magnified view of a fiber end face together with a small collection
of measurement tools to assist in assessing fiber quality and measuring fiber artifacts.

The main window consists of a toolbar containing the measurement tools and a scrollable viewing window with
overlay information. The measurement output is always rendered on the overlay. The viewing window can be
resized and the image magnification increased or decreased using the mouse wheel while the cursor is over the
image.

The tools available are (from left to right):
•
Rectangle : Draws a rectangle overlay with annotated left, top and diagonal lengths.
•
Circle : Draws a circle or ellipse overlay with annotated width and height.
•
Auto-Locate : Determines the position and diameter of a circular fiber.
•
Centroid : Automatically determines the centroid of a fiber using the Center Of Area method. This will work
with any fiber geometry.
•
Save Image : Saves the image in either BMP or PNG format.
•
Exit : Closes End View Quality Tool.
5.11.3 Click-Measure Tool
The Click-Measure Tool provides a similar magnified view of a fiber image to the End View Quality Tool and provides
a collection of measurement tools to assist in manually measuring fiber artifacts, annotating features and opening /
saving image files. The viewing window can be scrolled and the user can zoom in / out using the mouse wheel. The
tool is executed as a process, automatically capturing and displaying the current camera image.
