Setting Switches Association
Switches Associations Concept
By default, switches outputs are autonomous.
Amethyst III lets you perform switches associations. In an associations,
the switches are positioned similarly, either all on their primary input or
all on their secondary input. Amethyst III then chooses the input (primary
or secondary input of the switches) that results in the least severity in the
association.
The primary input of a switch is always the one that has the lowest
number, whatever the order in which you added the inputs in the
configuration.
Switches Associations Configuration Principle
In the Switches association view you have to define for each association:
 The switches you want to add
 Whether the association may be disabled if it implies positioning a
switch with a
Redundancy or Main-spare strategy on an input that is
in error although the other input’s state is better. In this case, each
switch will behave independently. This feature is called
Disable
association on severity and requires that you define the level of error
that will disable the association (see example 4 below).
There are a few rules that should be followed:
 In an association, you cannot mix switches with a main-spare strategy
and switches with a redundancy strategy. However, switches with a
manual strategy can be mixed with another strategy.
 In an association where the switch strategy is main-spare , the main
input must be the same in all switches, i.e. it must be either the first
primary or the secondary input of each switch.
 Switches with a manual strategy do not contribute to the switching
decision, they follow the movement.
If you switch manually on one main-spare switch of the
association, this changes the main input of all main-spare
switches of the association
