Permitted Materials
The iCAP Qnova Series ICP-MS instrument is designed to be operated
with the materials listed in the following tables.

Table 5-28 list the permitted gases used for CCT in the iCAP RQ
ICP-MS instruments.

Argon Used to maintain the plasma and to actuate pneumatic
controls.
Additional Gases:
Argon Used for gas dilution of high matrix samples. A small amount
of methane (CH
4
) might be added for optional sensitivity
enhancement for arsenic (As) and selenium (Se).
NOTICE
Maximum content of methane: 4.5%.
Nitrogen or mixtures with helium and/or
argon Used to enhance sensitivity.
Oxygen or mixtures with helium and/or
argon Used for the analysis of organic matrices.
