8. Handling
Please observe all safety instructions contained in this operating manual!
The product must be operated in dry indoor rooms only. Strictly do not expose
the device to moisture! Never touch the device and the mains cable/plug when
your hands are damp or wet! There is danger of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Avoid the following unfavorable conditions at the place of installation or during
transport:
- Humidity or excessive air humidity
- Extremely hot and cold temperatures
- Direct sunlight
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic fields such as near machines or loudspeakers
• Ensure sufficient ventilation of the computer/mains unit at the place of installation.
Place/install the computer so that sufficient air circulation is ensured. Never cover the
ventilation apertures and never cover the computer during operation.
• Do not put objects such as paper clips, biros, pins, knitting needles etc. into the
ventilation slots and apertures of the devices.
Children might try to put objects (e.g. toys) into the ventilation slots and apertures of
the ATX mains unit or the computer.
Thus, the ATX mains unit and the computer into which it is installed will get damaged.
Moreover, touching electric lines and connecting points involves lethal danger due to
an electric shock!
• Condensation water might form when the mains unit (or the computer into which it is
installed) is brought from a cold room into a warm one.
Let the mains unit (and the computer into which it is installed) reach room temperaure
before connecting it to the mains voltage and switching it on. This might take several
hours.
Otherwise, the mains unit and the computer might be destroyed and there is danger
of a life-threatening electric shock!
• When installing the device, make sure the cables are not bent or jammed.
• Prior to each use, check the ATX mains unit (and the computer) for damages. In case
of any damage, do NOT connect the ATX mains unit or the computer to the mains
voltage! There might be danger of life involved!
