Installation
Installation Procedure
This page provides guidance on installing the Tellabs FlexSym ONT205 and any required
accessories. The procedure involves the following steps:
1.
Physically mount the ONT and required accessories:
o
Place the ONT on a desktop or other surface,
- OR -
o
Mount the ONT to a wall, underside of a desk, or some other surface,
using the mounting bracket.
2.
Connect the ONT to DC power:
o
Use an AC adapter at the installation location,
- OR -
o
Use a remote bulk DC power supply cable.
3.
Connect the optical fiber cable to the ONT.
4.
Verify a solid green PON LED Indicator on the ONT after it boots up.
Note:
If the upstream equipment (OLT) is not yet operational, it may be impossible
to complete the final step of the procedure when the ONT is installed. Nevertheless,
the ONT is not considered to be fully installed until this step is completed.
Note:
When the ONT is first connected to the PON, it must download and install the
software necessary for the deployment. This process can take up to 20 minutes to
complete. If multiple ONTs need to be installed at the site, the next physical install
can proceed.
