Installation Apply and Verify Power
DC Power
Apply and Verify Power
After completing the installation steps, apply power to the 8820 MSR chassis as described
in the following sections:

AC Power, on page 4-16
DC Power
Use the following procedure to apply power to the 8820 MSR:
Step 1
Turn on the 8820 MSR circuit breaker(s) on the rear panel to apply power to the
unit.
Step 2
Verify power is applied by observing the PWR LED(s) on the front panel presented
in
Figure 3-2
.
Step 3
Watch the console monitor to ensure that the system boot messages are displayed,
and wait until the system presents the following prompt,
Attempting auto boot, press <ESC> to abort or <SP> to start.
AC Power
Use the following procedure to apply power to the 8820 MSR:
Step 1
Check the distribution circuit breakers or fuses
Step 2
Turn on the 8820 MSR power switch on the rear panel to apply power to the unit.
Step 3
Verify power is applied by observing the PWR LED marked A on the front panel
presented in
Figure 3-2
.
Step 4
Watch the console monitor to ensure that the system boot messages are displayed,
and wait until the system presents the following prompt:
Attempting auto boot, press <ESC> to abort or <SP> to start.
