Front Panel
ACO Button
The 8820 MSR alarm cutoff (ACO) button provides the means to silence audible alarms as
well as activate hardware LED tests. Briefly pressing the button silences the current audible
alert, whereas pressing and holding the button down for a few seconds activates the LED
tests.
Serial Connector
Two DB-9 male serial connectors are provided at the front panel. See
for a list of the connector pinouts. When referring to the 8820 MSR serial ports
in the CLI, serial port 1 is the main port, and serial port 2 is the aux port. You can use either
port to log on, run diagnostics, and perform troubleshooting on the 8820 MSR, as
dependent on your physical configuration.
Ethernet Connector
The Ethernet (ENET) connector is a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet RJ-45 connector. This port
provides networks management access to the 8820 MSR. See
for a list of the pinouts
Alarms
The DB25 female connector output supports three visual alarms, three audible alarms, and
the ACO input. See
External Alarm Connector, on page A-17
for pinouts to the external alarm
interface.
