This section describes the installation procedure to install PLMs and blank plates in the
8820 MSR, in the following sections:

The additional 8820 MSR PLMs are packed in a separate shipping container. Install them in
the chassis after you mount the unit in the rack.
The 8820 MSR provides four single-width card slots (see
Figure 4-8
) into which PLMs can
be installed. Prior to operations, each empty slot must be populated with a blank PLM.

Read this section only if you have purchased additional PLMs for your
8820 MSR equipment. The 8820 MSR comes fully loaded with PLMs on
