Appendix C: Adding Options

VM700T Option 01 (NTSC) & Option 11 (PAL) User Manual

NOTE

. As a precaution against the loss of files, you should back up the file

system of the measurement set using the Tektronix VMBKUP software accessory.
It is not a requirement to do this, only a precaution.

1.

Turn the measurement set on and wait for the system initialization to
complete.

2.

Press the

Configure

button.

3.

Touch the

Option Key

soft key. This will display the option key control

menu (see Figure C--2).

4.

Touch the

New Option Key

edit field.

5.

Type in the new option key; the hyphens are not needed and lower case
letters only are used. Note the following information about typing in
characters:

H

Typing always inserts characters at the cursor position. The cursor can be
moved left or right by turning the control knob.

H

To delete characters, move the cursor to the right of the character to be
deleted, then press the Back Space key.

6.

When you have finished entering the new option key, touch the

Done

soft

key. If you have entered a valid Option Key, a list of the options authorized
by the option key is displayed. Verify that this is the set of options you
wanted with your firmware upgrade. You will have two soft keys in the
display: Continue and Cancel.

If you made a typing mistake or entered an invalid option key for your
instrument, an error message appears in the display (see Figure C--3). Follow
the directions given in the message.
