Basic Installation

To start the TLA server on the portable mainframe, do the following:

Right-click

(TLA server icon, on the right side of the task bar) and select

Start TLA Server

The red circle on the icon disappears, indicating that the server is now running.

Con

gure your PC as described below.

NOTE.

You can con

gure the portable mainframe to start the TLA server when

you turn on the instrument. (See page 39, TLA7012 Server Control.)

Connect to the Mainframe

To connect to the logic analyzer mainframe from your PC:

Start the TLA application by double-clicking the TLA Application icon on the
PC. The TLA Connection dialog box appears. (See Figure 28.)

Select an instrument in the TLA Connection dialog box and then click the

Connect

button. You can connect to any instrument on your local network

that is not being used by another user. If no instruments are displayed in
the Connection dialog box:

Click

(Search icon) to open the TLA Network Search dialog box.

(See Figure 29.)

Verify that

Locate TLA systems on local subnet

is checked.

Verify that

Include these host names or IP in search

is checked.

If you know the host name or IP address of the TLA, add it to the list of
hosts to search.
