Troubleshooting Procedures

HDVG1 HDTV Digital Video Generator Service Manual

Use this procedure when

the TG2000 Platform

mainframe fails to power up

and you suspect the

HDVG1 module.

Set the rear-panel power switch to off, then on, and then

use the front-panel switch to turn the instrument on.

Watch the display for the HDVG1 Confidence Tests. Note

whether the HDVG1 module passed the diagnostic. Note

the highest number to appear.

Did the

HDVG1 fail

confidence

tests?

The problem is probably in another

module. Refer to

Troubleshooting

in the

TG2000 SIgnal Generation Platform

Service Manual

Yes

Use the Module Removal procedure on page 5--7 to

remove the HDVG1 module.

Set the rear-panel power switch to off, then on, and then

use the front-panel switch to turn the instrument on.

Did the

mainframe power

up successfully?

Yes

The problem is probably in another

module. Refer to

Troubleshooting

in the

TG2000 SIgnal Generation Platform

Service Manual

Set the rear-panel power switch to on, and then use the

front-panel switch to turn the instrument on.

Watch the display for the HDVG1 Confidence Tests. Note

whether the HDVG1 module passed the diagnostic.

Note the highest number to appear.

There may be a problem with the

Backplane board. Record

troubleshooting information and

contact Tektronix.

Install the HDVG1 module in a different slot.
