Troubleshooting
The 1830A is designed to be calibrated and verified without removing the cover or any other
disassembly. However there may a time when the 1830A is not operate correctly or within
specifications.
Check the Basics
Before calling TEGAM or returning the power meter for service, please make the following
checks. If the meter is still not responding correctly refer to the return policy and
documentation in Section 1 of this manual.
•
Check that the line socket has power.
•
Check that the power meter is plugged into the proper ac power source.
•
Check that the power meter is switched on.
•
Check that the line fuse is in working condition.
•
Check that the other equipment, cables, and connectors are connected properly
and operating correctly.
•
Check the equipment settings in the procedure that was being used when the
problem occurred.
•
Check that the test being performed and the expected results are within the
specifications and capabilities of the power meter.
•
Check the power meter display for error messages.
•
Check with a different power sensor.
Replacing the Power Line Fuse
1.
Slide the fuse holder assembly from the rear panel.
2.
Install the correct fuse or fuses. (250 V, 1.5 Amp Slow Blow Fuse)
3.
Replace the fuse holder assembly in the rear panel.
Check the Specifics
Once the basics have been checked a few more specific issues can be addressed without
removing the cover. Here are some common issues and suggested trouble shooting
techniques.
Problem:
I am unable to view LAN interface webpage.
Solution:
•
Verify 1830A is connected to network or designated computer.
•
Verify Network Link Activity as explained in Section IV.
•
Verify LAN Configuration as explained in Section IV.
•
Ping the 1830A from the control computer.
